Will the installation be messy? Will
there be wires all over the place?
No,
wherever possible all wiring is concealed, but this is dependant on the type and
layout of your property.
Wireless systems are available if required.

I have pets will this be a problem?

No, the system can be designed to allow the free movement
of pets. Although some compromise may be required in the sensitivity of the
system.

Can an auto-dialler be connected to the system?
An auto-dialler is a device which dials up to 4 numbers in
the event of an alarm activation. These can be added to new or existing systems.
We can also supply diallers which once notified allow you
to listen in to your property via a microphone and take appropriate action.

How long does the bell ring for?

This is
programmed by your installation engineer to your specification. Normally 10 to
15 minutes. (Max 20mins).

Can the sensors be fitted in external buildings?

Yes, external buildings can be catered for using sensors,
beams or door contacts.

What happens if there is a power cut?
All systems provided by Defensor Security have full
battery back-up on both the control panel and the external bell boxes. This will
allow the system to function during a power cut or an attempted attack on the
system mains.

What about maintenance?
Defensor Security recommends your alarm and CCTV system is
serviced once a year to remain at peak efficiency. Maintenance contracts are
available.

Will I get a reduction on my household
insurance?
We believe that is now NOT advisable to contact
your insurance company to advise them that you have an alarm system fitted if you are
attempting to reduce your premiums (Domestic only). The reason is most insurance companies will
now apply small print that if you have an alarm you must use it ALL the time
even if you are in the garden, pop next door for 5 minutes or in bed asleep
(part set mode) Failure to heed religiously to this criteria once your alarm
discount has been applied may void any insurance claim! Therefore, the only time
you should contact them is if you must have an alarm system fitted as a
condition of your standard policy because you live in a high risk area or you
have
suffered previously burglaries.
(The
discount normally offered is typically only 10% of your premium.)
